Homebrew Equipment

Homebrew equipment to build out your setup

Once you have brewed a batch or two, the right bits of kit make every brew day smoother and your beer more consistent. This is the gear that fills the gaps, siphons for clean transfers, hydrometers for measuring, wort chillers for fast cooling, kettles for the boil and sanitiser to keep it all clean. Add them as you need them rather than all at once.

New to this? Our guide on how to choose homebrew equipment helps you choose.

The pieces that matter most

An auto siphon and tubing make transferring and bottling far less messy. A hydrometer tells you when fermentation is done and how strong your beer is. A wort chiller drops the temperature quickly after the boil, which protects flavour, and a no-rinse sanitiser is the single most important thing for avoiding off flavours. A bottling bucket with a spigot makes filling bottles easy.

Practical gifts for a brewer

Equipment upgrades are welcome gifts for anyone who already brews, since they always want one more useful tool. Pair them with a starter beer making kit for a beginner, or a fermenter for a bigger batch. More ideas in our beer gift guides.
