My Opinion Of The Beers That I've Tried:
15.0 points overall
Style 19 - German-style Wheat Beer
- 16 points - Beer #17-1277, at the brewery, February 11, 1996
Dark yellow opaque, good head. Bubble gum aroma. (Good old 4-vinyl-guaiacol.) Banana flavor. Pretty smooth and tasty. Low-but-adequate carbonation. SERVED WITHOUT LEMON!!!
Style 6 - American-style Pale Ale
- 15 points - Beer #17-1279, at the brewery, February 11, 1996
Golden, very very low carbonation. Malty, fresh nose. Pilsner-style character. More interesting than, say, Redondo Beach Blonde. Pretty good bitterish finish.
Style 7 - English Bitter
- 15.5 points - Beer #17-1278, at the brewery, February 11, 1996
Red-amber, OK head. Grapefruity aroma. Good body, some crystal sweetness, some grapefruity notes.
Honey Bear Porter
Style 9 - Porter
- 12.5 points - Beer #17-1280, at the brewery, February 11, 1996
Dark dark brown opaque. Good head. Pretty clean aroma. Big and chewy, but oddly light on flavor. Honey sweetness is evident but not offensive.
Style 11 - Stout
- 15.5 points - Beer #17-1281, at the brewery, February 11, 1996
Deep dark red, OK head. Smells of fresh coffee beans. Big coffee flavor and long coffee finish, with some acidity.
