My Opinion Of The Beers That I've Tried:
14.5 points overall
Style 7 - English Bitter
- 17.5 points - Beer #17-1319, at the brewery, February 15, 1996
Golden-red. Good carbonation, low head. Hints of chocolate aroma, fair amount of brown malt and spicy hops. Good body and good mix of flavors. Caramel, brown, chocolate, hop flavor, pretty fair bitter finish.
Style 12 - Bock
- 16.5 points - Beer #8-521, Great American Beer Festival XIII, Denver CO, October 21, 1994
Golden Spike Pilsner (bottled)
Style 15 - Classic Pilsener
- 13 points - Beer #16-1240, Moloka`i Wines and Spirits Unlimited, Kaunakakai HI, January 8, 1996
Dark yellow opaque, good head, high carbonation. Sweet-candy aroma...like some Bocks. Vaguely reminds me of Spaten Oktoberfest in flavor, but not as heavy. More grainy-malt flavor. OK bitter finish. "Handcraft Brewed - Fresh Malted Barley and Golden Hops." (Golden hops...?) $5.59 per 22-oz bottle!
Golden Spike Pilsner
Style 15 - Classic Pilsener
- 14 points - Beer #17-1315, at the brewery, February 15, 1996
Golden, fizzy, big head. Pretty clean aroma. Fairly bitter, slightly sweet late.
Pullman Pale Ale
Style 6 - American-style Pale Ale
- 12.5 points - Beer #17-1317, at the brewery, February 15, 1996
Golden-amber, low carbonation, good head. Some spicy hops. Good body, reasonably malty...hint of domestic Tettnangs? They say "Fuggles"...
Raincross Cream Ale
Style 16 - American Lager
- 12 points - Beer #17-1316, at the brewery, February 15, 1996
Golden-amber, low carbonation, good head. Pretty clean aroma, faint vegetal hops. Good body. Bitterish in middle, mostly sweet in finish.
Seventh Street Stout
Style 11 - Stout
- 14.5 points - Beer #17-1320, at the brewery, February 15, 1996
Black, big brown head. Hint of black malt aroma, but not a lot. Fair black malt flavor, fair bitter finish.
Victoria Avenue Amber Ale
Style 4 - Mild / Brown Ale
- 15 points - Beer #17-1318, at the brewery, February 15, 1996
Brown, moderate carbonation, low head. Hint of chocolate in nose. Pretty good body, lots of crystal and black malt flavor. Drying near the end.
