Walking into Red Clay, the warmth hit me immediately. The staff was incredibly friendly, offering to let me taste test different beers to find the perfect one for my taste buds.
My bartender, Vic, was amazing; he remembered my name and order even when the place was bustling.
I appreciate that personal touch as you have probably noticed from my other Alabama brewery reviews!
The Beer Selection
Wow, the beer choices were just right! The selection was balanced for different palates, from a standard Pilsner to the unique Southern Bumpkin (sweet potato brown ale).
I particularly enjoyed the River Defender, a light and crushable IPA, and was impressed by the award-winning Murder Creek Cherry cider.

You’ve got to try the food! I’m still dreaming about the cauliflower crust pizza with pesto sauce and veggies.
As a massive meat fan, especially steak I never thought I would be raving about a cauliflower pizza, but there you go!
The pizza was perfect, and I the giant pretzel was unreal. Filling up the plate it was served on.

Red Clay offers live music nights, including Wednesday night Irish music, that’s just a hoot! I even enjoyed the Auburn University Jazz Band.
The acoustics were excellent, the seating varied, and there were games like corn hole to keep you entertained.
