My Opinion Of The Beers That I've Tried:
16.0 points overall
5,000 Year Ale (bottled)
Style 1 - Barley Wine
- 16 points - Beer #29-2399, Belmont Station, Portland OR, September 16, 2000
Ruby red, moderate carbonation and head. Rich caramel malt and chocolate aromas, with minty hops. Big body, big caramel sweetness. Smooth and not all that hoppy. Tastes good now...should taste great next year. Bottle #01937.
Tilted Kilt Ale (bottled)
Style 8 - Scottish Ale
- 15.5 points - Beer #26-2144, Belmont Station, Portland OR, September 1, 2000
Deep dark red, thick head. Rich slightly smoky malt aroma. Medium-big body, lots of caramel malt flavor that lingers forever. But as it warms, an unfortunate vegetal hop flavor begins to dominate.
