My Opinion Of The Beers That I've Tried:
17.5 points overall
-
Adam (bottled)
Style 10 - English / Scottish Strong Ale
- 16.5 points - Beer #33-2735, Sam's Liquors, Chicago IL, April 13, 1998
Dark red opaque, thick head. Smells chocolatey like Golden Rose, but more subdued. Big body, big alcohol, sweet, roasty. Some papery notes. 10% ABV. Batch #26.
- 20 points - Beer #19-1509, Willow Glen Liquors, San Jose CA, June 13, 1996
Dark brown opaque, OK head. Roasty-malty-alcoholic aroma. Chewy, treacly, alcoholic flavors. Some smokiness late. I could drink a lot of this...until I fell down. A bitter high-test version of Old Peculier? Good toffee finish...tastes like candy. 8% v/v, Batch #17. Thanks to Paris Cunningham for bringing this beer to Hawai`i for me!

Fred
Style 23 - Specialty Beer
- 16 points - Beer #29-2359, Belmont Station, Portland OR, September 9, 2000
Batch #32. Red-amber opaque, low head. Fruity, spicy aroma. Thick. BIG nutty rye flavor, and lots of biscuity malt. Lots of alcohol. Very drying and fairly bitter at the end. A very intense experience. Paris says, "It's good, but it's not Adam." Ten hops from five countries, aromatic and rye malts, 10% abv.
-
Golden Rose (bottled)
Style 2 - Belgian / French Ale
- 16.5 points - Beer #33-2736, Sam's Liquors, Chicago IL, April 13, 1998
Amber opaque, high carbonation, low head. Deep malty aroma, some diacetyl, lots of alcohol. Chocolatey sweet, big body. Lots of caramel flavor and finish. Hint of banana very late. 6% ABV
