My Opinion Of The Beers That I've Tried:
14.5 points overall
Big Ale (bottled)
Style 10 - English / Scottish Strong Ale
- 16 points - Beer #36-3398, Flanagan's Stop and Shop, Appleton WI, March 21, 2000
Red, high carbonation, thin head. Brown sugar aroma. Lots of alcohol. Thick. Strong. Caramelly finish. Should be excellent in a year or two. (Bottled in October 1999.)
Stone Beer (bottled)
Style 23 - Specialty Beer
- 15 points - Beer #33-2810, Siebel Institute, Chicago IL, May 20, 1998
Darker golden, moderate head. Fruity hop aroma, a little sulfury. Lots of spicy fruity hops, medium body, quite a bit of diacetyl.
Style 4 - Mild / Brown Ale
- 12.5 points - Beer #20-1616, Great American Beer Festival XV, Denver CO, September 26, 1996
Brown-amber. Pretty clean aroma. Good body. Sweet...not very interesting.
