My Opinion Of The Beers That I've Tried:
16.0 points overall
-
Altmans Alt
Style 18 - German-style Ale
- 13.5 points - Beer #36-3574, Great American Beer Festival XIX, Denver CO, October 5, 2000
Red-brown, thick head. Clean aroma. Medium body, malty, almost sweet.
-
Chazz Cat Rye
Style 23 - Specialty Beer
- 16 points - Beer #36-3651, Great American Beer Festival XIX, Denver CO, October 6, 2000
Golden-amber, good head. Faint rye aroma. Medium body, nice rye flavor, nice hop bitterness.
-
Colorado Kind Ale
Style 6 - American-style Pale Ale
- 15 points - Beer #7-449, at the brewery, October 20, 1994
Pale amber, some carbonation. Pacific Northwest hop aroma. Bitter...a hop bomb wannabe. Body OK, maybe a touch flat.
-
Java Porter
Style 9 - Porter
- 19 points - Beer #7-452, at the brewery, October 20, 1994
Dark red opaque, good brown head. Coffee aroma, with black malts. COFFEE flavor. Black patent in middle through finish. Some astringency OK.
-
Quinn's Golden Ale
Style 6 - American-style Pale Ale
- 16 points - Beer #7-448, at the brewery, October 20, 1994
Pale and hazy, flat. Slightly spicy nose. Tastes much like the XXX Pale, but hops are a touch more assertive.
-
Springfest
Style 4 - Mild / Brown Ale
- 16 points - Beer #7-451, at the brewery, October 20, 1994
A shade darker than the Kind Ale. Flat. Clean aroma. Very smooth. Good malty character, well-balanced. Quick clean finish. Touch of roasted barley.
-
Thunderhead Stout
Style 11 - Stout
- 15 points - Beer #7-450, at the brewery, October 20, 1994
Dark brown opaque, thick brown head. Hop aroma, like the Kind. Tastes just like The Kind, only with some black malts. Very strange for a Stout. Out of style, but I like it.
-
XXX Pale
Style 6 - American-style Pale Ale
- 15.5 points - Beer #7-447, at the brewery, October 20, 1996
Pale straw color. Thick white head, flat. Fresh fruity hop aroma, clean. Creamy. Nice balance and body. Malt shows up well. Finish could be more bitter.
