My Opinion Of The Beers That I've Tried:
16.5 points overall
Bard's Ale (bottled)
Style 4 - Mild / Brown Ale
- 15 points - Beer #29-2362, Kaunakakai HI, at home, December 16, 1997
Brown, moderate carbonation, OK head. Spicy aroma, smoky, caramelly. Lots of brown maltiness, pretty good hop balance, not a lot of body. Thin sweet finish. A good beer, not a great beer. "Contains not more than 2% alcohol by weight. Brewed in honor of the Colorado Shakespeare Festival." Thanks to Mike Bodzioch for sending this beer to me!
Black Jack Porter
Style 9 - Porter
- 17 points - Beer #8-569, Great American Beer Festival XIII, Denver CO, October 22, 1994
Light color. Coffee aroma. Poured by a girl named Bob.
Style 6 - American-style Pale Ale
- 17.5 points - Beer #33-2726, Map Room, Chicago IL, April 12, 1998
Red-brown, moderate carbonation, good head. Very citrusy aroma. Medium body, real malty, fairly bitter. Pretty chewy beer.
