My Opinion Of The Beers That I've Tried:
11.5 points overall
-
Banquet Beer (bottled)
Style 16 - American Lager
- 12.5 points - Beer #17-1336, Moloka`i Wines and Spirits Unlimited, Kaunakakai HI, March 27, 1996
Pale golden, very low carbonation. American industrial beer aroma...sweet, hint of maize. Light, some corn flavor, but not much else. No finish whatsoever. Pretty reasonable body, though, especially considering it's Coors. Interesting wood-grain 18-ounce screw-top bottle.
-
Eisbock
Style 12 - Bock
- 14 points - Beer #6-392, Lyon's Brewery, Dublin CA, March 27, 1994
Big white head, somewhat darker than yellow. Smells of raw grain, corn husks. Very thin body for a Bock. Toasted barley flavor, minimal hops. Almost no alcohol character.
-
George Killian's Irish Red
Style 16 - American Lager
- 11.5 points - Beer #33-2744, Siebel Institute, Chicago IL, April 22, 1998
Red-brown, moderate carbonation and head. Smells sweet. Tastes sweet, some caramel, but very sweet.
- 8 points - Beer #11-807, The HopYard, Pleasanton CA, March 18, 1995
Red-amber. Fizzy. OK white head. Caramel-hop aroma, not assertive. Ick. Basically industrial-beer-flavored, with a bit of caramel and cheesy hops. Thin. This is a particularly nasty beer. Eight points is very generous.
