  • 14 points - Beer #15-1161, The HopYard, Pleasanton CA, September 2, 1995
    Black, OK head. Coffee-sweet aroma, some alcohol. Roasty flavor. Pretty clean finish. Sorta thin and dry.

  • 13 points - Beer #8-591, Pacific Coast Brewing, Oakland CA, November 9, 1994
    Black, big brown head. Black malt aroma, with alcohol. Watney's house flavor. Tastes like a black Red Barrel. Tastes like bottled Guinness, only lighter in body.

  Style 5 - English-style Pale Ale
  • 10 points - Beer #25-2056, Shipley's Alehouse, Manoa HI, April 21, 1997
    Golden-amber, OK head and carbonation. Sweet, bland aroma. Tastes just like the Samuel Smith's Pale, maybe a little lighter. Wonder what the hops are? I'd like to avoid them.
