My Opinion Of The Beers That I've Tried:
14.0 points overall
-
Dos Equis Amber Lager (bottled)
Style 17 - Vienna / Märzen / Oktoberfest
- 14.5 points - Beer #25-2054, Fiasco's, Hilo HI, April 17, 1997
Brown, clear, moderate carbonation, loose short-lived head. Malty-brown aroma. OK body, good malt flavor. OK balance, hops aren't very assertive. Big carbonation bite erases any finish.
-
Dos Equis Special Lager (bottled)
Style 14 - German Light Lager
- 14 points - Beer #35-3252, 1st Wines and Spirits, Allouez WI, April 22, 1999
Deep golden, low carbonation and head. Malty, clean aroma. Light, malty, fizzy, hint of quick bitterness in the middle.
-
Noche Buena Special Holiday Amber Beer (bottled)
Style 17 - Vienna / Märzen / Oktoberfest
- 14 points - Beer #30-2445, Capital Liquors, Grand Island NE, March 13, 1998
Brown, moderate carbonation, good head. Smells brown, with some hops, some corn. High carbonation, medium body, good caramel flavor. A little astringent at the end. "Invented by a Dos Equis brewer in 1924." "German bock"...I don't think so.
- 13 points - Beer #27-2234, Willow Glen Liquors, San Jose CA, September 10, 1997
Red, low head, lots of carbonation. Sweet, caramel aroma. Thin, some brown malty flavor. Not a lot here. Reminds me of Dos Equis Amber Lager.
