My Opinion Of The Beers That I've Tried:
14.0 points overall
-
Double Enghien Blonde Ale (bottled)
Style 2 - Belgian / French Ale
- 13.5 points - Beer #35-3358, Flanagan's Stop and Shop, Appleton WI, November 29, 1999
Golden, some haze, high carbonation, massive head. Spicy, alcoholic aroma. Thin, fruity, a little sour, a little metallic.
-
Double Enghien Bruin (bottled)
Style 2 - Belgian / French Ale
- 12.5 points - Beer #35-3366, Flanagan's Stop and Shop, Appleton WI, December 19, 1999
Amber-brown, moderate carbonation, thick head. Malty aroma, some diacetyl, some acetate. Medium body, big brown-toasty malt flavor. Fairly bitter, fairly warming, fairly strong acetate flavor.
-
Scotch (bottled)
Style 2 - Belgian / French Ale
- 16.5 points - Beer #29-2349, Belmont Station, Portland OR, September 1, 2000
Bright red, fizzy, thick head. Spicy, fruity, alcoholic aroma. VERY highly carbonated. Big and malty like a Scottish Scotch Ale, but with the distinctive Belgian flavor. 8% abv.
