My Opinion Of The Beers That I've Tried:
18.0 points overall
-
Cinq Cents (bottled)
Style 2 - Belgian / French Ale
- 18 points - Beer #33-2778, Siebel Institute, Chicago IL, May 12, 1998
Dark red-brown, huge head, high carbonation. Spicy, yeasty aroma. Medium body, caramelly, alcohol, sweet, banana. 9% ABV.
- 19 points - Beer #18-1447, Kamuela Liquor Store, Kamuela HI, May 6, 1996
Amber, high carbonation and head. Much more prominent caramel (?) aroma than even the Grand Réserve (18-1446). Another big beer, with a big hoppy flavor besides. Finish tastes like candy...very fizzy candy.

Grand Réserve (bottled)
Style 2 - Belgian / French Ale
- 19 points - Beer #18-1446, Kamuela Liquor Store, Kamuela HI, May 6, 1996
Red-amber opaque, high carbonation and head. Good malt nose, hint of alcohol. Big carbonation bite. Big beer...malty, heavy, bitter, with a healthy dose of that great Chimay house flavor.

Première (bottled)
Style 2 - Belgian / French Ale
- 16.5 points - Beer #16-1261, Naja's, Redondo Beach CA, February 10, 1996
Also known as "Capsule Rouge". Red-brown opaque, great head. Slightly metallic, some hop nose. A tartness that doesn't bite. A chocolateness that isn't sweet. Raspberry but not fruity. A little stale, unfortunately.
