Daura is Damm’s gluten-removed lager, developed in Barcelona with help from Spain’s National Research Council (CSIC) as one of the first beers of its kind. It is brewed the same way as a standard barley lager, then treated to break down the gluten content rather than swapping in gluten-free grains from the start.

How It Tastes
Daura pours a clear golden color with a light body and a clean, bready malt character, close to a standard Mediterranean pale lager rather than the thinner profile common to many gluten-free beers brewed from sorghum or rice. It finishes crisp with a mild hop bitterness, easy to mistake for a regular lager if you did not know its background.
Brewed like a normal beer, then treated to remove the gluten, rather than built from gluten-free grains from scratch.
- Tastes closer to a standard lager than most gluten-free beers
- World-awarded gluten-removed beer
- Good everyday drinking strength at 5.4%
- Still brewed from barley, so not suitable for a strict celiac diet without checking local regulations
- Less widely stocked than Damm’s flagship Estrella lager
